Three things most setups get wrong

UVB & Lighting

UVB output fades long before a tube stops glowing. Note the install date on the end cap and follow the maker's replacement interval, not the light you can see.

Heat & Control

Every heat source belongs on a thermostat. Put the probe where the animal actually sits, then confirm the reading with an independent thermometer.

Climate & Gauges

Measure both ends of the enclosure. A single gauge on the glass tells you about the glass, not about the gradient your animal lives in.
