Zilla Adult Bearded Dragon Food

Overview

What it is and who it suits

Zilla Adult Bearded Dragon Food is a specially formulated dry pellet diet designed to meet the nutritional needs of mature bearded dragons, a species whose dietary requirements shift significantly as they move from the insect-heavy diet of juveniles toward a more plant-forward intake in adulthood. This blend typically incorporates a mix of vegetables, fruits, and plant-based proteins alongside essential vitamins and minerals, including calcium, to support the long-term health of adult dragons. The pellets are sized and textured appropriately for grown bearded dragons, making them easy to consume while still encouraging natural foraging and chewing behaviors that keep reptiles engaged during feeding time.

Formulated with input from reptile nutrition standards, this food aims to provide a balanced source of fiber, protein, and fat ratios suited to adult bearded dragons, whose metabolism and activity levels differ from younger, rapidly growing dragons. The inclusion of calcium and vitamin D3 supports proper bone density and helps prevent metabolic bone disease, a common health concern in captive reptiles that don't receive adequate UVB exposure or dietary supplementation. Zilla's formulation also typically avoids excessive fillers, focusing instead on ingredients that mimic the varied, omnivorous diet bearded dragons would encounter in their natural arid habitats, blending desert-adapted plant matter with protein sources that support muscle maintenance and overall vitality.

As part of a complete reptile care routine, this food is intended to be used alongside fresh vegetables, occasional live feeder insects, and proper supplementation to create a well-rounded diet for adult bearded dragons kept in terrariums or vivariums. The packaging is designed for easy storage and portion control, allowing keepers to maintain consistent feeding schedules that support digestive health and reduce the risk of obesity or nutrient deficiencies. Zilla, as a brand within the reptile and exotic pet supplies space, positions this food as a convenient staple for reptile owners seeking to simplify the dietary management of their bearded dragons while still prioritizing the species-specific nutritional balance these popular pet lizards need to thrive in captivity.
